WHAT DO I WEAR??

Walking Boots: Waterproof & sturdy for rough terrain 
Walking trousers: not jeans!
Waterproof clothing: Jacket & over trousers are best
Spare clothing: socks, extra top/sweater
Hat & Gloves (even in summer!)
Fleece or Sweatshirt

Gaiters : To prevent stones. mud & water from entering your boots.
 They also protect your trousers and socks.
Walking Poles: to reduce stress on your knees!
Sit Mat: for lunch & tea stops
